What are the insulation methods for anti-corrosion steel pipes

H Beam,ASTM A312,tubes welded
Corrosion resistant steel pipe is a common type of steel pipe. In order to slow down and prevent corrosion and depreciation of steel pipes under the chemical and electrochemical effects of internal and external culture media, or due to microbial metabolism, it is necessary to do well in the corrosion resistance of pipelines. In addition to corrosion protection technologies used for transporting media, most steel pipes used for transporting oil and natural gas are located in relatively complex soil environments, and the transported media is also corrosive, so the inner and outer walls of pipelines may corrode. Once the steel pipe is corroded and perforated, it will lead to oil and gas leakage, which not only seriously pollutes the environment, but also causes fires and endangers people. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out anti-corruption work on pipelines. However, there are many insulation methods used for corrosion-resistant steel pipes, and different methods must be selected according to different types.

1. Methods to keep warm

Mainly use uncertain insulation materials (such as expanded perlite, expanded frog stone, asbestos powder, asbestos fiber, and diatomaceous earth clinker), and add a certain amount. Or add coagulants (such as sodium fluoride or adrenal aminopyridine) to it, select the proportion of ingredients, add water and mix evenly to form a shaped mud ball, and then apply directly by hand. People call this application method the smear method to keep warm.

2. Thermal insulation of the package

① The winding insulation method mainly turns the insulation material into a rope or strip shape, and then directly wraps it around the pipeline that needs insulation.

② The main insulation materials used in this method in daily life are: wool felt, glass wool felt, straw rope asbestos tape, etc.

3. Prefabricated components with thermal insulation

The production of insulation structure for in pipeline lines. When the pipeline diameter is DN ≤ 80mm, use a semi-circular pipe shell. If the pipeline diameter is DN ≥ 100mm, please use fan-shaped or trapezoidal tiles.

② The materials used in prefabricated products are mainly foam concrete, asbestos, slag wool, glass wool, expanded perlite, calcium silicate, etc.

4. Filling method for thermal insulation

① If the insulation material is loose, this method can be used for movable insulation materials.

② During the construction process, repair the circular steel support ring on the pipe wall. The thickness of the ring is the same as the thickness of the insulation layer, and then the support ring is wrapped with iron plate, aluminum plate or wire mesh to fill the insulation material.

③ This filling method can use prefabricated porous material hard arc bricks as support structures, with a spacing of about 900mm between them, just like a regular wire mesh, and use circular machines to treat slag according to the outer circumference of the insulation layer. The filling of pipelines and insulation structures should be made of metal protective shells as much as possible around the covering support.
